Which of her characterizations do you find compelling, and why so?

Sorry, but her portrayals didn't really work for me. Perhaps I have my own interpretations already imprinted in my brain. You know, the old, "I liked the book better than the movie" syndrome.

I really like how she characterized Queen Esther! I haven't read about her before or heard of her before, but I really want to now! I really like that she stood up for her people when it was really important and says a lot about the person she is - I admire that!

I find myself most intrigued by Abigail, and that is not because she is the first listed i swear. She presents the most common conflicting question girls face as they grow up into women. Do they want to be seen as pretty....which always fades in time? Or do they wish to be seen as mentally stimulating, insightful, smart, or wise? My grandpa used to always call me the prettiest girl alive...and my grandma would always argue that he should not always tell me that or I would end up a mindless run of the mill girl. Me being the over achiever I always try to be would yell out," Well maybe I want to be both....then ya'll wont know what to do with me"! Can a woman truly be both? And if she tries...will she be lacking in one or both of the areas? The point is, is that this seems to be the most simple choice of life-style but ultimately effects the rest of a woman's life. When I have a little girl some day I will read the story of abigail to her and make sure she understands the importance of this choice.
